Mr. Egan is a mobile strategist, consultant and public speaker who is a globally recognized industry thought-leader on the strategic business use of mobility. He has 30 years of experience in product innovation, technology management and strategic planning.

Bob Egan has held executive positions with several Fortune 1000 companies including Digital Equipment Corp, GTE, MasterCard, Gartner, and the founding CEO of two business strategy consulting and market analysis firms; Mobile Competency and The Sepharim Group.

Bob is a pioneer of Wi-Fi as one of the founding members of the IEEE 802.11 WLAN standard. As a former Gartner VP, he pioneered the Mobile MQ’s. As the former Chief Research Officer at CEB’s TowerGroup, Egan’s foresight influenced the rapid adoption of mobile across retail bank channels and the broader financial services sector.

His commentaries are featured in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes, Business Week and Fortune magazine. His broadcast appearances include; ABC Nightly News, CNBC, Canada’s BBN, the BBC TV and the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour.
